Eastern Suburbs Aviation Medicals
Trent is a CASA qualified Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) and can complete Class 1,2 and 3 medicals. These medicals are completed for pilots, trainee pilots, air traffic controllers and flying instructors. He operates his medical out of Your Doctors Randwick.

Tips to help streamline the medical appointment and make it as easy for you as possible;​

Must register online at CASA and bring your ARN

Allow 60 minutes for the completion of the medical

complete the MRS questionnaire prior to the appointment

If a blood test or hearing test is required, Dr Stapleton will give you these forms to complete

If there isn't an appointment time that suits you, call the office to discuss options

Bring photo ID (passport or driver's license)

If you wear glasses bring them to the appointment with your spare pair
-
If you wear contact lenses bring these, with solution and container to take them out with your spare pair of glasses.

Initial Medical Certificate
The initial issue of a Class 1 and 3 medical certificate requires the following extra tests

ECG (performed on site by Dr Stapleton)

Blood test (form will be provided and this can be completed on site by external pathology provider)

Audiogram (performed off site, a referral form will be given to you)

Eye exam from a DAO (Designated Aviation Opthalmologist) or a Credentialled Optometrist

Medical Certificate Renewals
Renewals for Class 1 and 3 medical certificates require extra testing at the following intervals

ECGs are required at the first renewal after the age of 25, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40. After 40, an ECG is required annually
-
Blood test at first renewal after the age of 25 and then every 5 years from the age of 25 until age 60, when they are required annually

Audiograms are required at the first renewal after the age of 25 and then every 5 years from the age of 25
-
An eye examination is required by a DAO or CO at age 60, then every 2 years after

The following Fees are charged for CASA Aviation medicals by Dr Stapleton

Class 1 and 3 Medicals - $250
